A warm & friendly welcome awaits you to our small level site set in peaceful rural Shropshire, Nestled within the surrounding hills, and less than 10 minutes from the beautiful medieval market town of Shrewsbury, which boasts over 600 listed buildings, Britain's 3rd tallest church spire and the World's first skyscraper! 

With easy access from the A5, Cartref is an ideal base to explore the attractive market towns of Shropshire and along the Welsh border. For example, Ludlow, voted one of the top 20 foodie towns of Great Britain; Bishops Castle, with its two breweries, a must for those who enjoy a good pint of real ale. For those who enjoy walking there are many possibilities, discover the Shropshire Hills AONB's (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty), walk along the Shropshire Way, or  Offas Dyke.

National Trust properties such as Attingham Park, Powis Castle, Chirk Castle, Erddig, Boscobel House to name but a few are within easy driving distance.

Ironbridge and its many museums is only 18 miles away.


Cartref is also the first campsite off the A5 travelling North West making it an ideal stop off on your route to North and Mid Wales.

 At Cartref there are 35 pitches in the family area, all with electric hook up, a mixture of grass and hard-standing. A further 11 hard standing pitches all with electric hook up in a separate adults only area. 


 Cartref is in the heart of Shropshire, with easy access to many sites and towns. The historic town of Shrewsbury or the Beautiful Ironbridge Gorge heritage site just a short drive away.
