We are in the process of installing Solar Panels on the shower block in the aim of reducing our reliance on electricity supplied through the National Grid.
Through 2016, we will be applying for a David Bellamy Conservation Award, one of the longest running awards in Green Tourism. In order to achieve this worthy award we have to show the following:
Manage our land as a haven for wildlife - We thank the many of you who keep bird feeders filled up, We have a pair of Nut Hatches feeding in the garden at the moment along with Blue Tits, Coal Tits, Great Tits and Long Tailed Tits, Bull Finches, Chaffinches, Green Finches and Dunnocks. During 2016, we hope to create habitats for insects and hedgehogs.
Reduce our use of energy, water and other resources - We have many ideas, one of which will be to introduce a "Fair use Policy" for all electric hook ups and discourage the use of domestic kettles designed for the home, not caravan or camping, heaters in awnings and electric grills.
Reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce - Please help us by recycling as much rubbish as possible.
Support our local community - More fundraising events along with a few other ideas we have in mind.
